Why Stamping?
I make cards. . .lots of cards. I use to be a serious collector of stationary. I love receiving snail mail and sending snail mail, so naturally, I loved to collect paper and envelopes to make the letter a little more personal. However, I was introduced to stamping 5 years ago, and it was love at first sight. I was drawn to the fact that I didn’t have to draw anything, but just stamp away and create something personal for someone. With the help of some rubber, I can create anything.
So the journey began of card making, and let me tell, it was a rough beginning. Learning to create layouts, color coordinate, play with tools and accessories were all just so overwhelming. My first cards were total flops. After a couple of years, I took a break from stamping. I lacked inspiration, my life was getting busy, and it just seemed that those creative juices stopped flowing.
Then, after giving birth to my first son, I decided it was time to carve out some time for myself–to stamp. I met a Stampin Up! demonstrator in my area, and she helped me to fall in love with stamping all over again. (Thanks Mel for being so passionate about stamping and sharing all your wonderful ideas with me.) So, it’s been a year since my love for stamping was rekindled. I realized that practice and CASING (a nice word for copying) is what helped me to be a better card creator. Oh yes, and spending the money to buy some well worth it tools definitely helps to make your stamping experience a fun one.
So, here I am. . .still stamping, still creating. And I love it.
